Cabrinha introduces a new breakthrough in kiteboarding.
In a departure from the traditional arc design of
an inflatable kite, our PRO SPAN open arc design
creates a greater lifting area that delivers more power
and less drag than traditional kites of the same size.

The benefits are huge; a lighter,
faster turning, faster flying kite that produces the
power equivalent of a kite that is 1.5 -2.5 square
meters larger in size.
How it works:
By increasing the projected span (not the flat aspect
ratio), the lifting area and power of the kite is
greatly increased. We can now create a similar lifting
area of a larger kite with less material, less weight,
and less drag.
The Red kite achieves a larger lifting
area and a higher projected span through the use of
Pro Span.
The kite with Pro Span has an increased
lifting area
Most inflatable kites utilize a traditional arc which
has a relatively small lifting area compared to the
overall surface area of the kite. As the canopy’s
arc curves toward the wing tips it produces a diminishing
amount of power to the rider, adds unecessary weight,
and produces drag.
Another way to illustrate how Pro
Span works is to start with two kites with identical
surface areas and flat aspect ratios.
The kite in blue is built with a traditional
arc. The kite in Red is built with a Pro Span
arc. Even though both kites have the exact same surface
area and aspect ratio, the kite with Pro Span clearly
has a larger lifting area and higher projected span.
